About us

Manurewa Crime Watch Patrol was established by local Manurewa residents in December 2000 in response to a growing crime trend in Manurewa.

The patrol was formed with the assistance of the Manurewa Police and the Manurewa MP George Hawkins.

Our patrol is an affiliated member of Manukau Crime Watch Patrols. This means that all our members have had Police clearances and learn appropriate ways of dealing with criminal and antisocial behaviours. Our patrol is a voluntary group made up of local residents.

Manurewa Crimewatch Patrol has walking and car patrols that have been sign written with our name and the names of our main sponsors.

We patrol in the business and residential areas of Manurewa Ward of Manukau City, including schools, churches, parks and commercial properties.

If you are cleared in this Police check, you will be given Training and a Training Folder and taken out in the Patrol car with an experienced member for a number of training sessions.

You will learn how to fill in the patrol sheets, how to use the cell phones and how to use the patrol car equipment.

You will also learn when and how to call the Police and what to say to them about a situation.

We would like you to be able to work a 2 hour shift once a week or more.
